Captain's Log: Stardate 10324.7
This past weekend, Commander Dave and I took the new shuttlecraft to maximum warp and travelled to the farthest reaches of the Gamma Quadant, otherwise known as Captain Ernie's home in New Jersey. Thankfully, Dave brought along his new portable GPS receiver, the Garmin eTrex (or for our purposes, the eTreks) to guide us successfully despite Ernie's horrible directions (Step 4, then Step 2, then Step 1 -- no wonder this guy hit the rocks last year.)

The party was a smashing success, as crews from several starships (Frolic, Eagle, Hub Bub, Indecent Proposal, and Chinook) were in attendance. Meeting us there from the Enterprise was Ensign Patty and Commander Richard with Marcy in tow. At one point, Dave asked Richard if he'll be participating this year, but I had to point out that he was asking the wrong person. Quickly, Marcy replied that yes, Richard will be racing. Personally, I'll believe it when I see it.

Many thanks to Ernie for a great gathering and a delicious spread of food. I believe Patty made several trips to the food table and took home a doggy bag (Watch out, Patty. You'll eat too much and the next thing you know, you'll be 80 pounds.) It was great catching up with old acquaintences and sharing stories of our adventures at sea -- or at least at bay. As the party wound down (I think they ran out of beer,) I sat down with a member of Eagle's crew to look at some photographs.

Once again, thanks to Ernie and his wife for hosting a fabulous party. We're already looking forward to next year.
