Captain’s Log: Stardate 10529.9
To say that a lot has transpired in the last 24 hours would be an understatement of galactic proportions.

And no, I’m not talking about the new pope (although why he chose Benedict XVI is a mystery. I always thought the best way to follow John Paul II was with George Ringo II, but that’s just me.)

Last night, I received the May 2005 issue of Offshore Magazine, which features, on page 92, the “Wednesday Night Warriors” of the EBYRA Wednesday Night Race Series. On the following page is a photo of the Enterprise crew around a table after a race, and on the page after that, a photo of the Enterprise and Wow prior to a race, and on the page after that, a few sentences where yours truly is quoted. There’s also a few references to our so-called “uniforms.”

And this morning, though still quite a ways off from being a “done deal,” my offer was accepted on a 1990 C&C 37+ (40 feet) K/C as the next starship to carry the Enterprise name. So, if all goes according to plan (does it ever?), we’ll be sailing the latter half of June and the rest of the season on the NCC-1701-B.

She’s roomy, sleek and fast (I’m told by a YRA rep that her PHRF rating will be in the 90’s with the current sail configuration.) Real fast. I’m expecting Warp 7 and Warp 8 to become regular occurrences – that is, once we learn how to sail her right. In the end, we’ll be going more boldly than ever before.

In the meantime, we have to get the Enterprise-A ready for the first part of the season and ultimately for sale. The work party stands for a week from Saturday – April 30.
