Captain's Log: Stardate 11422.7
It's hard to believe, but, according to the calendar, Spring has sprung. And it's a good thing too, because, the last time I checked, this was what New York City looked like:

And word has it that tomorrow there is a 50% chance for more accumulating snow.

It's the same chance I'll be yelling up towards the sky, "ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!!?" and start looking at South Florida real estate.

But it's OK. I keep getting hints of the warmer weather to come. The Defender Warehouse Spring Sale is later this week, the yacht club had a boater's meeting last weekend, and my UPS driver dropped this off last week:

I'll give you two guesses what it is. And no, it's not a giant pizza cutter or a new game piece for the latest version of Trivial Pursuit.

And things are looking up. Last Saturday, the temps were in the low 60's and we finally got to start working on the Enterprise:

Can't tell you how good it felt for us to be back there, even though there was still chunks of ice in the bilge and the next day it dropped to the 30s again. Maybe next weekend we can do more.

Oh, and by the way, also can't tell you how good it felt a couple of days earlier to be in Englewood, NJ to see if the heart of rock and roll was still beating (and it was) -- shot from my iPhone 5:

So, hopefully the snow will stay away and these good feelings will continue. We'll prep the Enterprise for the season ahead, a fun-filled combination of day sails, overnight cruises, fireworks trips, and, hopefully, some weeknight racing on Eastchester Bay. That is, of course, assuming that this doesn't happen in the next few days:

Fingers crossed.
